01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

For a café au lait, try the deep-roast speciality coffee made with plenty of Obuse Milk. Its natural sweetness complements the coffee’s depth, and one customer found it satisfying without adding sugar. If you prefer less milk, the Coffee & Milk combines the coffee of the day with a little Obuse Milk. It is a good option when you want the coffee to come through, with just a touch of milk.

You can choose your coffee beans and have your order hand-dripped. The menu has included fruity, light-roast Ethiopian coffee, bitter, dark-roast Kenyan coffee and decaffeinated, dark-roast Mexican coffee. One customer described the Ethiopian as balanced, with acidity that was not too strong. For breakfast or a light meal, there is a handmade egg sandwich, prepared daily with plenty of Matsuda mayonnaise. Customers have remarked on the soft bread and generous egg filling; it is a substantial option for takeaway, too. The hot sandwich, filled with tomato sauce, basil and cheese, is pressed and toasted, with one customer noting its crisp surface. It makes a handy pairing with coffee when you want something savoury.

For something sweet, look for rice-flour canelés and chiffon cake. One customer found the canelé crisp on the outside and moist inside, while the rice-flour chiffon cake has been described as chewy and gently sweet. Obuse Milk gelato, which highlights the milk’s flavour, and a matcha flavour are also available as a sweet bite after a drink. You can eat in or take your order away. One customer reported that the seating is mainly benches, so the space may suit a quick coffee with a sandwich or baked treat better than a long stay.
